TWIST-and-TURN

One of my favorite things to do in Nana's Cabin is quilt.  This is a wall hanging or lap quilt I made after taking a class taught by JoAnn at We're Sew Creative near Concord Mills.  The pattern comes from a book written by Eileen Wright called "Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts".

Thanks for visiting with me today in Nana's Cabin.  I hope you will come again real soon!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Tomorrow is Father's Day but you still have time to make this card.  The base is Cherry Cobbler cardstock layered with Going Gray and Whisper White.  Use the Designer Paper of your choice and stamp the ship from The Open Sea stamp set in Cherry Cobbler. I used a retired stamp for the sentiment but you could use the Father's Day stamp in the Delightful Dozen set. Then punch out your sentiment with the Decorative Label punch, add a few brads and you're finished.

 HAPPY FATHER'S DAY CARD

Father's Day is this weekend but you still have time to make this simple card for the "man in your life".
Start with Early Espresso cardstock as your base and layer a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, that has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot folder.  Keep layering with Early Espresso and Crumb Cake cardstock and stamp on Very Vanilla with the anchor from The Open Sea stamp set (page 104 in the 2012-2013 catalog).  I used the Happy Father's Day stamp from a retired set to stamp on a strip of Very Vanilla but you could use the Happy Father's Day stamp from the Delightful Dozen set shown on page 140. Finish off with a gold brad.
This also makes a great masculine birthday card--------

Yesterday my youngest grandson, Blaine Kimrey, graduated from Croft Elementry School.  It's hard to believe that he will be in middle school this coming year.  Tonight his older sister, Amber,  and my oldest grandson, Trevor, will graduate from Mallard Creek High School.  This is going to be a fun-filled family weekend with graduations, graduation parties, and my son's 38th birthday!!!

Stampin' with Renda

We had a great time last night stamping in the Cabin with Renda and her guests.  Renda has had a camp for me almost every month for six years!! This is the first time her ladies have stamped in the Cabin but they will be coming here from now on. Connie, Greta, Mary, Ginger, Vickie, and Jackie are enjoying putting their cards together.

Pam is checking out the new catalog while Renda is deciding what verse to put inside her cards.
This is one of the cards that the ladies made at   Renda's camp. We used Whisper White as the card base and then put a layer of Elegant Eggplant .We stamped on Whisper White using  the Field Flowers stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Love and Sympathy set.  This is a great card for all level of stampers from beginners to advanced.

Welcome to Nana's Cabin

Welcome to Nana's Cabin.
Over the next days and months I will invite you into my cabin to see all the things I create with Stampin' Up! and the quilts and other items I make.  I may even invite you to attend one of my Thirty-One parties.

My husband built my "little playhouse" last year and I spend most of my days out there.  He loves to work with wood so he cut the trees down and sawed all the lumber on his sawmill. The inside is made from recycled wood from his grandmother's homeplace, an old barn, a neighbor's abandoned garage, and wood from my homeplace.  There are alot of memories in the walls of my cabin.

I'm glad you came to visit with me today and I hope you will come back!
